MVCC Alum Patrick Corbin selected to Diamondbacks All-Time Team

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Patrick Corbin has been a staple in the team's starting rotation since 2012. Recently he was honored by the D-Back fans by being selected to the Diamondbacks 20th Anniversary Team. This year Patrick was selected to his second MLB All-Star game and has compiled an 11-7 record. He has struck out 242 batters in 195 innings with a stellar 3.23 ERA. He ranks 4th All-Time for the Diamondbacks in wins and 3rd in Strikeouts. Other members of the 20th Anniversary team included the likes of Randy Johnson, Matt Williams, Curt Schilling, Bob Brenly and Paul Goldschmitt.

Corbin attended MVCC after graduating from Cicero North Syracuse High School. He played for the MVCC Hawks Baseball and Basketball Teams in 2007-2008 before traveling to Chipola Junior College in Florida on a baseball scholarship. He was drafted 80th overall by the Los Angeles Angels before later being traded to the D-Backs. Patrick is slated for free agency after this season and will certainly be a hot commodity among MLB teams looking for a left handed starter.
