Hawks Women's Soccer off to a strong start!

The Mohawk Valley Women's Soccer team got a win on their first match of the season.  They traveled to Genesee Community College and came out victorious 2-1 in double overtime.  The Hawks controlled much of the tempo in the first half and capitalized at the 26:52 mark as freshman Emily Berube fired a shot past Genesee goalkeeper Madison Papaj.  Late in the contest with 10 minutes remaining, Carleigh Folts tied the game up for Genesee.  Unfazed, the Hawks kept pushing and came out with the game winning goal with 2:37 left in double overtime as Jenna Thompson fired a shot into the upper corner on a feed from Lexi Phillips.  Sophomore Bobbie Lee-Hall saved 7 of the 8 shots she faced on the day.

The Hawks return to the pitch on Wednesday, September 4th at 4:00pm at SUNY Broome.
