#4 Hawks fly past SUNY Adirondack

The #4 Mohawk Valley Men's Soccer team took on SUNY Adirondack on Saturday evening. The Hawks took advantage early on in the game and put themselves up 8-0 at halftime.  It took Zach Gleasman just 43 seconds into the game to fire home a shot to put the Hawks up 1-0. Cheikh Abdoullah Niasse would receive a pass from Kevin Griffith and fire home the shot to put the Hawks up 2-0 just 3:23 into the game. Just 5:20 into the first half Kevin Griffith would finish home a rebound off the post on a shot from Cheikh Aboudllah Niasse to put the Hawks up 3-0. Andres Estaban Florez would receive a ball from Ghaiath Idrees and fire home the shot to put the Hawks up 4-0 with over 20 minutes left in the first half. Ghaiath Idrees would finish a penalty kick for his first goal of his MVCC career in the 30th minute. Less than 30 seconds later, Ousman Jallow would finish home a goal for his first tally of the game. Less than 2 minutes later, Jallow would receive a ball from Ousmane Konate and finish home the shot for his second tally of the game. In the 35th minute Bradley Taft would slot home a finish from Ghaiath Idrees to put the Hawks up 8-0 with 10 minutes left in the first half. Tucker Garrett would earn his second shutout of the season in his second career start while his counterpart Aidan Fox would finish with 18 saves.

The Hawks outshot SUNY Adirondack 44-5 with a 26-2 advantage on goal. The Hawks also held a 16-1 advantage on corner kicks. The #4 Hawks advance to 11-0 in NJCAA region III play while outscoring their first 11 NJCAA opponents 59-2. During their 11 game unbeaten streak, they've shutout 9 out of their first 11 opponents.

On Wednesday at 2:00PM the #4 Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks will take on the #2 Herkimer Generals for an undefeated showdown in NJCAA Region III. The #4 Hawks enter the game with a NJCAA record of 11-0 while the #2 Generals enter the game with a NJCAA record of 9-0.
