#4 Hawks get back on track!

The #4 Mohawk Valley Men's Soccer Team beat Jefferson Community College by a score of 4-0 Saturday evening. Zach Gleasman was the first Hawk to get on the board just 18 minutes into the game when he converted a penalty kick. In the 33rd minute, Romaine Watkis received a ball from Jorge Navarro and blasted home the one time shot from 25 yards out to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead. Just five minutes later, Kevin Griffith received a ball from Cheikh Abdoullah Niasse and blasted home the finish to put the Hawks up 3-0 heading into halftime. The Hawks outshot JCC 18-2 (8-1 SOG) while holding a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks. The Hawks would put their final tally on the board in the 58th minute when Cheikh Abdoullah Niasse buried home a penalty kick after Zach Gleasman was fouled in the box. Tucker Garrett made 1 save on route to the shutout while his counterpart Andrew McLean would finish the game with 10 saves. The Hawks outshot the Cannoneers 35-2 while holding a 14-1 advantage on goal. The Hawks also held a 15-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The #4 Hawks extend their NJCAA record to 12-1 while the Cannoneers drop to 6-4. The Hawks have outscored their NJCAA opponents 67-7 on the season. The Hawks have now recorded 10 shutouts in their first 13 NJCAA games which breaks the all-time record at MVCC for shutouts in a season.
