The Mohawk Valley Hawks Women's Basketball team took the court for the first time in about 20 months and came up just short in their season opener against Herkimer College. The Hawks fell by a score of 50-47 in Emily Durr's head coaching debut for the Hawks. It was a closely contested contest as neither team was able to gain more than a six point advantage with multiple ties and lead changes throughout. The Hawks were led by transfer Lyrik Jackson who scored 20 points and sophomore Jasmine Michaux who scored 18 points.
The Hawks will return to action next Wednesday as they will travel to Jefferson CC, tip-off is set for 5:00pm
