Softball Takes Two!

Powered behind a three-run, Kimberly Birmingham home run and a gutsy performance from Joy Stevens in the circle, Mohawk Valley softball knocked off Broome with a 15-0 victory in game one of the double header on Sunday.

Hawks led off the game with an early run in the first, and capped the second with Birmingham's three-run blast.

The sophomore Stevens turned in a mature performance in the circle to work around the Hornets. Stevens nearly pitched a perfect game giving up zero hits. She had 8 strike outs and one walk.

Chloe Weller turned in multi-hit game as she went 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Eliza Marusic and Makayla Nadler also turned in a multi-hit game as they went 3-for-4.

In Game 2, Mohawk Valley softball claimed its second win with a 13-0 victory over Broome. The Hawks once again did all their damage early scoring 10 runs in the first 3 innings.

Sophomore Matteson Hoehn went 3-for-4 and Kimberly Birmingham also went 3-for-4 with her second 3-run home run of the day.

Trinity Critelli turned in the complete-game performance for the Hawks giving up zero runs, no hits, 10 strike outs and 3 walks. She helped herself at the plate too finishing 2-for-3 with 1 walk.
