Mohawk Valley's Baseball team took on Herkimer in a highly anticipated showdown this past week, here in Utica. Despite the Hawks best efforts, the powerful hitting of the Generals proved to be a key all afternoon as the Hawks fell 16-1 in a Game #1 and 14-0 in Game #2. 

Despite the defeat, the Hawks received a lift from Kevin Del Vecchio in Game 1 as he contributed 2 powerful hits for the Green and white. One of them being a solo shot homerun to give Mohawk Valley a lift of momentum. 

In Game 2, Derek Defazio and Jack Morotti contributed hits for the Mohawk Valley but again the Hawks were outlasted by a strong showing from the Generals as the game ended in 5 innings. 

The Hawks will be back in action on Sunday afternoon as they take on the Timberwolves of Adirdondack Community College.
