Men's Basketball Head Coach Harley Fuller:

Mohawk Valley Community College appointed Harley Fuller of Gloversville, NY as Head Men's Basketball Coach in July of 2021.

Over the course of Coach Fuller's first 2 seasons at the helm, the Hawks have compiled a combined 42-15 record (74% winning percentage) including an NJCAA National Tournament Berth and NJCAA Elite 8 appearance in 2022. The Hawks season and national title run ended in the NJCAA Elite 8, with a loss to #1 overall seed, and national runner-up Sandhills College.

In his short time in Utica, Coach Fuller has coached and developed back to back NJCAA All American Selections, an NJCAA Region 3 Player of the Year, a Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year, and 7 All NJCAA Region 3 Selections. The 2022-2023 season saw the Hawks win an outright Mountain Valley Conference Championship, as well as earn the #1 overall seed in region 3. In addition to stringing together 21 straight wins and a 27-5 overall record, Coach Fuller helped move 9 student athletes onto NCAA four year schools for the 2023 season. Three of those players signed with NCAA scholarship institutions, Travis Gray (NCAA Division 1 Florida International University), Daniel Barrera (NCAA Division 2 D'Youville University), and Asa Beyah (NCAA Division 2 Allen University.)

Prior to his time at Mohawk Valley, As Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach and Director of Player Development at Siena, Fuller helped guide the team to a 20-10 campaign in 2020, including a perfect 14-0 mark at home, highlighted by a MAAC Regular Season and Tournament Championship, receiving an automatic bid to the 2020 NCAA Tournament, which was canceled due to COVID-19. He also helped lead the program to 17 wins in 2019, tied for most in the MAAC, and the team’s overall nine-win improvement was tied for the 11th best turnaround nationally. The 2021 season at Siena was more of the same on the sidelines for Coach Fuller. The Saints again secured a MAAC regular season title, before finally falling to Rick Pitino's Iona Gaels in the MAAC conference tournament.

Throughout his coaching career, Fuller has led his teams to victory and worked to develop his players both on and off the court. At Siena College, Fuller recruited a host of talented players highlighted by the Saints starting backcourt of Jalen Pickett (MAAC Player of the Year), and Jordan King (All MAAC, All Soconn Selection). Additionally, he assisted in the development of six Metro Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Conference selections, highlighted by back-to-back MAAC Players of the Year (Current Denver Nuggets Point Guard) Jalen Pickett and current International professional player Manny Camper; and at Mount St. Mary College, he prepared and executed player development strategies for three current professional players — 2017 Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Year Junior Robinson (Spain), Greg Alexander (Portugal), and Chris Wray (NBA G League), as well as former Mount player and current Wake Forest player Jonah Antonio.

As Director of Scouting and Analytics at Mount St. Mary’s, Fuller developed the scouting reports and crunched numbers for the team, which posted an 18-14 overall record, including a  second place finish in the Northeast Conference with a 12-6 league mark. Earlier in his career, Fuller was Assistant Coach for the Albany City Rocks AAU (2016-2017), and Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Mayfield High School (2015-2016).

Fuller has had much success throughout his career both as a professional basketball player and a coach. In his five seasons as a professional basketball player, he racked up more than 1,500 career points and over 550 career assists. Fuller has played professionally for the Giessen Basketball Club in Germany (2014-2015), 9 De Julio in Argentina (2012-2014), BG Illertal Basketball Club in Germany (2011-2012), and Tus Treis Karden in Germany (2010-2011).

Fuller was a basketball standout at Broadalbin Perth High School, and went on to play at SUNY Cobleskill from 2006-2008, where he broke school records for career assists (439) and single-game assists (13) and was the only player in school history to sign a Division I Scholarship. He also was an NJCAA Region 3 Champion and Final Four Participant, All-Region 3 Selection, two-time All-Mountain Valley Conference Selection, and Team Most Valuable Player. Fuller then played for Florida International University (NCAA Division I) from 2008-2009 and Molloy College (NCAA Division 2) from 2009-2010, where he led the East Coast Conference in assists per game (6.3), minutes per game (39.3), and points per game in conference play (11.7).
