Men's Soccer Tamed By Cougars

The MVCC Men's Soccer team dropped their first game of the season to Genesee Community College.

Genesee broke the deadlock with 4:15 remaining in the first half when the Cougars were awarded a penalty kick. Rodrigo Albuquerque finished the penalty kick to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead going into halftime. Genesee came out and scored their second goal of the game in the 3rd minute of the second half. The Cougars would go on to score four goals in the next twenty minutes to give them a 6-0 lead. Issak Somow found the back of the net for the Hawks in the 85th minute to give them their first goal of the game. Santiago Rojas and Caden Blazek combined for 6 saves. The Hawks drop to 2-1 this season while GCC starts the season off 1-0.

The Hawks return to action against SUNY Broome in a home contest on Wednesday, September 5th at 2:00 PM.
