Hawks compete in Utica University's Blue and Orange Invitational

The Mohawk Valley Track and Field team participated in the Utica University Blue and Orange Invitational on January 27th and 28th. 

The Hawks had a great showing in the event with Keenan Cannon placing first in the 60-meter dash and placing second in the triple jump. Keenan's jump of 43 feet 11 inches qualified him for nationals.  

Additionally, Jay Bowman placed 5th in the Triple jump with a jump of 41 feet 7 inches and Omar Mohamed continued his stellar career at a Hawk as he won his heat in the mile run with a time of 4:55.23

Other great performances came from Taylor Harvey, as she won her heat in the 800-meter dash and placed 5th overall out of 41 competitors with a time of 2:30.75. Taylor's time also qualified her for nationals. 

Additional impressive performances were displayed by the girls 4x200 meter relay that placed 5th with the team consisting of, Olga Akhrenmenko, Moenae Washington, Taylor Harvey, Iveion Seabrooks

 

Coach Cull stated that he "couldn't be more pleased with our season opener. I'm excited about some of our great performances and already having athletes qualifying for nationals. It is truly only up from here."
