Mohawk Valley's Men's Cross country team traveled to FLCC this weekend to compete in the NJCAA Region 3 Championships. 

On a beautiful afternoon in Western, New York, the bright leaves weren't the only thing ready to shine in the October sun, as Omar Mohamed rolled onto the campus of Finger Lakes Community College on a mission. 

Mohamed and his all region teammattes Garrett Bobowski (9th place finisher), Jesse Euson, Adin Kapo and Gregory Phillips were ready to attack the weekend with all they had to make a run at a region title. Unfortunately when the dust settled, the Hawk men finished the season with a 2nd place finish as a team in the Region 3 Championships. 

However, Omar Mohamed closed off his regional season by winning an NJCAA Region 3 Championship individually for the 2023 season. This victory closed out one of the most decorated Region 3 careers in recent memory. 

Coach Cull explained that "Coaching athletes like these reminds me day in and day out why I got into coaching in the first place and we are not done! Next stop is nationals in Huntsville, Alabama, November 11th."
