Stellar pitching leads Softball over Jamestown

Mohawk Valley softball won two games on Sunday afternoon over Jamestown Community College. In game 1 of the afternoon, Sophomore 3rd baseman Elana Calicchia shined going 2/3 with a homerun, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. In addition to Calicchia's productive afternoon, Freshman 1st baseman Kennedy Case went 1/3 with a triple and 2 runs of her own. Sophomore pitcher Angelina Hays had a stellar performance on the mound in game 1. Her 1 hitter was vital to the Hawks 8-0 victory and gave the Hawks great momentum heading into game 2. 

In game 2, the Hawks got a great pitching performance from freshman Alivia Neff. Neff had 15 strikeouts and only allowed 5 hits in a 8-4 victory. The bats stayed hot for MV in game 2, as Sophomore shortstop Kimberly Birmingham led the Hawk attack and went 2/4 with a double and 2 runs. Freshman Breanna Grogg continued her impressive season going 3/4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI's in game 2.
