Hawks win double header against Onondaga Lazers

For the first time in more than a decade, Mohawk Valley Softball swept Onondaga CC. Sophomore Kimberly Birmingham, Region 3's batting average leader, went 1/2 with a double, 1 run, 1 RBI and 2 BB in game 1 of the afternoon. Fellow sophomore's Eliza Marusic, and Maryann Lewandrowski combined for 2 RBI's and went 4/7 in game 1. Sophomore pitcher Angelina Hays improved to 4-1 with the Hawks 9-8 , game 1 win. She also contributed heavily on the offensive side for the Hawks. In game 1 she went 3/3 with 1 double, 1 walk, 2 runs and 3 RBI's. 

In the second game of the day, Alivia Neff got the start on the mound, and set the tone early with 8 strikeouts and only allowed 3 hits in the game. Kimberly Birmingham went 2/3 with one triple, one homerun, 1 run and 4 RBI's. Her stat stuffing performance was complimented well by 2/3 performances from Freshman Kennedy Case, Sophomore Elana Calicchia, as well as Freshman Brianna Grogg. Mohawk Valley's 6-2 victory capped an impressive week for the Green and White in which Coach Mexico led her team to 4 straight victories.
