Brittnee Mexico Named Mountain Valley Conference Coach Of The Year

Coach Mexico was announced this week as the Mountain Valley Conference Softball Coach Of The Year. Mexico developed and coached 3 All Mountain Valley Conference selections this season and led her team to the Region 3 championship semifinals during the 2021-2022 campaign. 

Coach Mexico Bio:

Brittnee Mexico, originally from Herkimer, has been with MVCC since 2017. She is Head Coach of the Women's Softball Team and Coordinator of MVCC's Student-Athlete Success Program, responsible for monitoring academic performance and providing support to student-athletes on all 18 men's and women's teams. In her second season as coach, two of her players were picked for the All-Region Team, and Mexico was named Region III Coach of the Year.

Prior to joining MVCC, Mexico was an assistant coach for the women's softball team at Utica College, and an academic coaching expert in the Office of Student Success. As a student-athlete at Elmira College, she was a four-year starter and Softball Team Captain from 2008-2010. She was named Impact Player of the Year in her senior campaign, and was recognized as an Empire 8 All-Conference Selection. She earned her bachelor's degree in childhood education/sociology and anthropology from Elmira, and her master's degree in education from Utica College.
