Softball Sweeps Home Opener Against SUNY Broome
Game 1: 

 The Mohawk Valley Women's Softball team battled Broome Community College this week in their first double header of the year. On the mound, Alivia Neff was impressive in game 1, striking out 12 to pace the Hawks. The bats were hot for the Hawks as Freshman Mackenzie Emmons went 2/3 with a 2 run home run, fellow Freshman Faith Nicks went 2/4 with a double, and Alivia Neff went 1/4 with an RBI double of her own. Ultimately, Emmons clutch homerun and the back to back doubles by Neff/Hicks sealed the deal for the Hawks, who won Game #1, 4-1. 

Game 2: 

 

In Game number 2 of the afternoon, the Hawks stellar played continued but they were challenged by a talented Hornets team. Kendall Darling had a very solid showing on the mound and in the batters box for the Hawks, striking out 7 and going 1/3. Faith Hicks was 2/3 with a double and an RBI, and Kylei Cavelino went 1/2. Ultimately, after an exciting back and forth contest, Mohawk Valley was able to come out on top with a 5-4 victory to sweep the series on the afternoon.
