Hawks Dominate Game One, But Fall Short In Game 2
Game 1:
Hicks and Emmons Power the Offense in Win With Help from Yardley and Yacobucci
In a dominant offensive display, Faith Hicks and Mackenzie Emmons led their team to victory with impressive power hitting. Rachael Yardley and Santina Yacobucci also contributed with strong plate appearances, proving to be crucial in securing the win.
The game started with a bang, as Hicks hit a towering home run over the left field fence in the first inning, giving her team an early lead. Emmons followed suit in the second inning, hitting a solo shot over the center field fence to extend the lead.
Yardley and Yacobucci also played important roles in the game, with Yardley driving in a run with a single in the second inning and Yacobucci getting on base with a walk and scoring a run.
Hicks continued to be a standout performer, going 3 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Emmons also had a solid game, going 1 for 3 with a home run and a run scored. Yardley went 1 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Yacobucci went 1 for 2 with a run scored and a walk.
The opposing team struggled to keep up with the offensive firepower of Hicks and Emmons, and the quartet of Yardley, Hicks, Emmons, and Yacobucci proved to be too much for them to handle. Their ability to get on base and drive in runs secured the win for their team.
Overall, it was an impressive display of hitting from Hicks and Emmons, who combined for four hits, three runs scored, and three RBIs. Yardley and Yacobucci also played important roles in the win, proving that their team has a well-rounded offense. Their dominant performance bodes well for their team as they look to continue their winning streak in their next game.
Alivia Neff had a dominating performance on the mound, leading her team to victory with her strong pitching. In a game where she gave up just two hits and one run, Neff's five strikeouts helped secure the win and improve her impressive record to 5-1.

Game 2
Despite an impressive offensive performance by several players on the team, The Hawks ultimately fell short in their latest game. Neff herself had an outstanding day at the plate, going 3 for 5 with a double, three runs, and an RBI. She was joined by Mackenzie Emmons, who went 2 for 5 with two RBIs and three runs scored, as well as Brianna Grogg, who was a perfect 3 for 3 with a walk, three runs scored, and an RBI. Kylei Cavelino also had a great day at the plate, going 3 for 5 with a double and five RBIs.
Despite the impressive offensive showing, the opposing team was able to edge out , largely due to a few defensive miscues. Neff took the loss on the mound after the Lakers bats turned hot in the sixth inning. Neff had a strong showing with seven strikeouts and five walks. She gave up seven hits and ten runs, but ultimately the team was unable to provide enough run support to secure the win.
It was a disappointing loss for Mohawk Valley , who had several standout performers on the offensive side. However, they will need to focus on shoring up their defense and finding a way to close out games if they hope to continue to be competitive throughout the season.
