Jim Vitale took over as Head Coach of the Women's Soccer Team in 2016 after spending four years as the Associate Head Coach. Since joining the coaching staff in 2012 the team has enjoyed overall recorded of 130-41-14.  Winning the Mountain Valley Conference and Region III in 2012, 2013, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022. The Hawks ended the 2022 campaign finishing Runner-up in the National Tournament. The National Tournament Final with Brookhaven was a well contested match that ended 2-1.

In 2012 the team was crowned the NJCAA DIII Champions with a 4-1 win in the championship match. The Hawks finished the season with an overall record of 21-1-1.  In 2013 the team was the NJCAA DIII runner-up after a heartbreaking 3-4 loss in the championship match. In 2020 and 2021 the Hawks finished 3rd place in the National Tournament. In 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018 and 2013 the team went undefeated in the Mountain Valley Conference. In 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2013 the team went undefeated in the Region.

Coach Vitale was named 2022 District Coach of the Year, 2021 District Coach of the Year, 2021 Mountain Valley Conference Co-Coach, 2020 Mountain Valley Coach of the Year, 2019 NJCAA Region 3 Coach of the Year and the 2019 Mountain Valley Coach of the Year.

Coach Vitale holds a NSCAA Advanced National Coaching Diploma and is an IYCA Youth Speed and Agility Specialist. Coach Vitale is member of the Coliseum Soccer Club where he coaches and trains female athletes.

Jim Vitale is a Professor in the Center for Arts and Humanities at MVCC. Jim earned an AAS degree from MVCC in 1989. Jim went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from University at Buffalo and his Master’s degree from Syracuse University.
