The Mohawk Valley Men's Lacrosse team headed back down to New Jersey on Wednesday fresh off their first win of the season over Brookdale CC 13-9 a few days earlier.  The first quarter of the game was a bit of a feeling out process for both teams, where both goalies made big saves early to keep the scoring low.  Mohawk Valley's Nick Baldanza broke the scoreless tie as he scooped up a rebound off a shot from Savion Williams and put it past Union goalie Dylan Bohm.  The Hawks took a 1-0 lead and kept it through the end of the first quarter.  Sophomore captain Adam Clemons would extend the Hawks lead to 2-0 as he came around and finished a shot early in the second quarter.  After a couple Hawks penalties, the Owls were able to tie the game 2-2 going into the halftime break.

Mohawk Valley freshman goalie Jevit Cumber had a career-high 20 saves on the day including a few point blank saves.  He would register 10 saves in each half.  Union took advantage of a Mohawk Valley turnover and would take their first lead 3-2.  The Hawks regathered and Sophomore Travis Huther would feed Justin Haas to score a man-up goal and tie the game back at 3-3.  The Hawks found their offense in the third quarter as Grant Mills would give the Hawks the lead back, and Haas and Clemons would each find the net one more time to give Mohawk Valley a 6-3 lead after the third quarter.  In the fourth quarter however, the Hawks stubbed their toe.  A combination of injuries, penalties, and fatigue would catch up to the Hawks as the Union Owls would score 10 goals over the final 15 minutes and win the game 13-6.  After only registering three goals in the first 45 minutes because of the Hawks defense and stellar play of Cumber in goal, the Owls used a big fourth quarter run to secure their first win of the season.  With the loss, the Hawks drop to 1-1 on the season and it is not currently known when the next game will take place.
