Lacrosse has record setting day.

Lacrosse has record setting day.

The Mohawk Valley Men's Lacrosse team defeated visiting Finger Lakes CC by a score of 17-14 Wednesday evening at D'Alessandro Stadium.  The Hawks were led by their attack which combined for 14 goals and 10 assists on the evening.  The men's lacrosse program now has co-record holders for points in a game as both Max Hunt and Dominick Gratch each had nine points on four goals and five assists apiece.  Freshman Kyle Erway also tied the school record with six goals in the game.  The Hawks defense combined for 16 caused turnovers of the Lakes with Jacob Posello causing seven, Zion Snyder causing six, Marco DiCastro causing three, and Zach Cullen causing one.  Snyder had a career day also adding eight groundballs and scoring the first two goals of his career too.  Sophomore speedster Derek Ferrone was crucial in the transition game for the Hawks as he scooped up nine groundballs and scored a goal.

"We finally got the offense going this evening.  This is the team I was hoping to see all season, they finally showed what they are capable of doing, and it was great to see a solid team win where everyone on the team contributed to the victory," said Coach Evanoff.

The Hawks will return to action Friday evening as they host the Hudson Valley Vikings at 5:30 pm.  The livestream of the game will be available through Hudl.
