GAME 1: MVCC 1 | HVCC 7

 

MVCC Hawks had trouble keeping up with Hudson Valley CC Vikings in a 7-1 loss on Friday.

MVCC Hawks were the first to get on the board in the fourth when Abby Jepsen doubled, scoring one run.

Hudson Valley CC Vikings made the score 3-1 in the top of the fifth after Angelise Montanez tripled, scoring two runs, and Izabelle Ratcliffe grounded out, scoring one run.

Moira Collins earned the win for Hudson Valley CC Vikings. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out 16 and walking one. Kaylee Beam took the loss for MVCC Hawks. The starting pitcher went seven innings, allowing seven runs on 12 hits, striking out one and walking one.

Jepsen led MVCC Hawks with one run batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Carley Robinson, Savannah Kirkby, Chelsi VanDeusen, and Jepsen each collected one hit for MVCC Hawks. MVCC Hawks turned one double play in the game.

 

GAME 2: MVCC 1 | HVCC 9

 

Hudson Valley CC Vikings got on the board in the first inning after Maeve Brannigan homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Hudson Valley CC Vikings added one run in the third. Grace Harris tripled to center field, making the score 3-1.

Reegan Mullen earned the win for Hudson Valley CC Vikings. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and one run over six innings, striking out five and walking one. Kyla Zabek took the loss for MVCC Hawks. The starter went five innings, giving up nine runs (five earned) on nine hits, striking out one and walking one.

Lani Roberts led MVCC Hawks with one run batted in.  Kaylee Beam led MVCC Hawks with two hits in three at bats. MVCC Hawks turned one double play in the game.

Angelise Montanez, Izabelle Ratcliffe, and Lily Brennan each collected two hits for Hudson Valley CC Vikings. Brannigan and Ratcliffe each drove in three runs for Hudson Valley CC Vikings.
