Women's Tennis Falls to Hudson Valley, but Still Win Conference Championship!

The Hawks 2 match wins short of an undfeated team season.  The Hawks were only able to go to Hudson Valley with four players on Friday, so they had to forfeit 5th and 6th singles, and 3rd doubles giving the Vikings a 3-0 lead before play had begun.  The four Hawks that did play tied the six matches 3-3 with Sha Wee moving up from her 5th singles position to pick up victory in 3rd singles.  Lotte Van Heeswijk won a three set battle with Hudson Valley's Katie Ziegler which was the match of the day.  The third victory for the Hawks came in 2nd doubles as Sha Wee and Morgan Kirkland teamed up to defeat Destiny Pipino and Abigayle Yetto.

The season is FAR from over.  Mohawk Valley will host the Region III Championship Tournament Sunday, May 4th, inside the Jorgensen Center fieldhouse as the weather will not cooperate to allow this tournament to be played outside.  They will then head to Chattanooga, Tennessee on Wednesday, May 7th for the NJCAA National Championship Tournament.

For the Regional Championship, the Hawks have secured the #1 seed and first round byes in seven of the nine match flights. The seedings for Sunday are listed below with the tournament set to begin at 10:00am:
