The Mohawk Valley Women's Tennis team won the Region III Championship Tournament on Sunday at Mohawk Valley. The team score of the match was Mohawk Valley - 5, Hudson Valley - 2, Herkimer - 2. The Vikings earned Region III Runner-up via a tiebreak. The weather in upstate New York did not cooperate again for the Championship Tournament like last year, and was again forced to be moved inside. It was a long day of tennis for all three teams, with 18 matches on three courts, but they all battled through the adversity and played a great day of tennis. Next up for the Hawks and Vikings, they will travel to the NJCAA Division 3 Championship Tournament down in Chattanooga, Tennessee which will be played this coming weeking. (May 9-11) The winners of each of the nine flights yesterday were named to the 1st team all-region, and the runner up was named to the 2nd team all-region. Full results below:
