As the 2025 baseball season ends the MVCC Baseball program turns it's eyes to 2026 and a brand new field at Donovan Stadium. The Stadium is currently undergoing a complete makeover with a brand new turfed field, batting cages, bullpens and lighting set to be complete by this summer. The stadium grandstand will stay in tact giving the facility a one of a kind look while maintaining it's historical feel. The stadium will be one of the finest in the entire northeast and will offer an amazing atmosphere and setting for players and fans of all ages to enjoy.
Perhaps no one will appreciate the stadium improvements more than long time MVCC Head Coach Dave Warren, "2026 will be my 25th season as the head coach here, I have put my whole life and my body for that matter into this program. The memories that I have there are too many to count and a lot of them don't even involve the actual games, although I have lots of memories about them good and bad! My son grew up on my dugout bench and then I got to see him make the last out of a District Legion Championship there. Seeing my daughter run on the side field when she was 3 or 4 years old. I can still see her blonde hair flapping in the wind as she rounded the bases while I was standing in the third base coaches box. It's a very special place to me and I am sure there are countless people in our community that share a similar memory or two. I am so happy for the future young men that will decide to come here and play at MVCC and for our community that will get to enjoy this special place for generations to come.
Coach Warren went on to say, "Over the past three or four years we basically have not had a home field, weather and field conditions forced us to play at other teams home fields or cancel all together. We have only been able to practice on the field a handful of times in the spring which has caused us to play catch up with our opponents and learn on the fly in games. Now that all changes."
