#4 MVCC Men's Soccer Tops Jamestown CC 4–1 on the Road

JAMESTOWN, NY (10/4/25) – The #4-ranked Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) men's soccer team continued its season with a convincing 4-1 win over Jamestown Community College on Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks wasted no time establishing control of the match. MVCC struck first in the 23rd minute when Diego Silva converted a setup from Francesco Tagliavini to make it 1-0. Thirteen minutes later, Souayibou Diop doubled the lead with a penalty kick goal sending MVCC into the break up 2-0.

The momentum carried into the second half as Mario Camacho netted a pair of goals to put the game out of reach. His first came in the 59th minute off a smooth assist from Silva. Although Jamestown's Casimiro Espeso Gayt pulled one back in the 78th minute on a solo effort, Camacho responded less than a minute later with his second of the day, assisted by Fran Molina-Villafan, to seal the 4-1 victory.

MVCC outshot Jamestown 25-3 and earned seven corner kicks while not allowing a single one. Jamestown keeper Theo Merlin made six saves under heavy pressure, while MVCC goalie Leo Elsdon faced just two shots on goal, saving one.

The Hawks will take on #6 Fulton Montgomery Community College on Wednesday at 4:00PM at Accelerate Sports Complex in a primetime Region III match up.
