#9 MVCC Women's Soccer Dominates Hudson Valley to Clinch Mountain Valley Conference Title

The No. 9-ranked Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) women's soccer team clinched the Mountain Valley Conference Regular Season Championship in emphatic fashion on Saturday, defeating Hudson Valley Community College 4-0. The victory capped off a dominant conference campaign for the Hawks and set the tone as they head into postseason play.

Leading the charge was standout sophomore Ryan Colton, who delivered a remarkable performance by scoring all four of MVCC's goals. She opened the scoring early in the first half, finding the back of the net in the 12th minute off an assist from Arianna Petrelli. Just over two minutes later, Colton struck again, this time set up by Isabella Kleban, to give the Hawks a quick 2-0 lead. She completed her first-half hat trick in the 26th minute with an unassisted goal, putting MVCC firmly in control at halftime. Colton added a fourth goal in the 57th minute, once again scoring unassisted, to round out the scoring and put the match out of reach.

Hawk goalkeepers McKenna Coffey and Mackenzi Stevens splitting time in net and each recording three saves to preserve the shutout. MVCC finished the match with 18 shots—14 on target—while denying the Vikings any significant scoring chances, particularly in the second half.

With the win, MVCC not only secured the conference title but also built crucial momentum heading into the postseason. The Hawks will now await their seeding and opponent for the NJCAA Region III Tournament.
