Hawks Sail Past Timberwolves, 98-75

Playing in their 8th road game of the season, 9 games in, the Hawks traveled to Adirondack Community College to take on a talented Timberwolves team in a 3:00 PM matchip in Queensbury.

From the opening tip it was evident that the Hawks were looking to create a tempo that would allow them to get out in the open court frequently. A number of early turnovers by the Timberwolves, led to the Hawks sharing the basketball and creating opportunities for each other all of the foor.

Mohawk led 52-33 going into the half, led by 16 first half points by Ike Sheppard, and 7 other Hawks getting into the scoring column over the 1st 20 minutes.

In the second half it was more of the same, it was the Hawks transition game that allowed them to lead by as many as 34 points on Saturday afternoon. Highlight plays from Isaiah Knight, Daniel Barrera, and Jordan Drain became contagious as a high level of ball movement was on display all afternoon.

A key to the Hawks victory was the return of the healthy All American Travis Gray, who scored 18 points in his season debut to go along with 21 points from Ike Sheppard, and 11 points from Daniel Barrera.

Overall, 10 Hawks entered the scoring column and they dished out a combined 21 assists on Saturday afternoon leading to a 98-75 victory.

"Coach Sweet has done a stellar job over his short time at Adirondack in building the program with a great mix of transfers, as well as freshman. They play very well together, and its obvious that he is building something special out there in Queensbury. With that being said, I was excited to see us meet the challenge. I thought we shared the ball very well, had a number of guys contribute and we are really starting to play together consistently." Coach Fuller stated following the win.
