The Mohawk Valley Hawks took down conference foe Hudson Valley Community College on Wednesday evening by a final score of 91-56.

Asa Beyah set the tone early for the Hawks picking up full court and disrupting the Vikings offense from the opening tip. The Hawks were in sync from

the opening tip controlling the defensive and offensive glass and flying around defensively making the Vikings earn everything.

On the offensive end, the Hawks played selfless basketball for 40 minutes and ended the game having 5 players in double figures. Jordan Drain led all scorers with a 20 point performance, Travis Gray contributed an efficient 15 points and 7 assists, Daniel Barrera had 15 points and 8 rebounds, Ike Sheppard contributed a double double with 14 points 13 rebounds and Asa Beyah scored 14 points including a number of impressive game impacting plays on the defensive end. The Hawks also received big time contributions from Lateef Johnson (7 Points, 6 rebounds), and Aaron Sanchez who did a great job on the defensive end.

"We set the tone early on the defensive end, and really played together for 40 minutes. Asa I thought was a huge key to this win in the way he impacted the game in defending some of Hudson Valley's guards, and just really made things difficult. Coach Long regularly has one of the best defenses in the region so I was really pleased with how we moved the ball and were able to get some things going in transition."- Coach Harley Fuller said following the victory.
