#6 Hawks Fall in Championship: Await Potential NJCAA At Large Berth

#6/#1 Seed Mohawk Valley had their 20 game winning streak snapped, in the Region 3 Championship game on Sunday afternoon by Fulton Montgomery Community College, falling 89-82.

The Hawks led by 7 at the half, and were in control much of the second half, leading by as many as 16 but ultimately the Raiders were able to take the lead with just under 2 minutes to go and never trailed again in the game.

"Congratulations to FMCC, EJ, Scotty and TJ on leading their group to a region 3 championship this afternoon. Obviously my heart breaks for our student athletes and thanks to their buy in and dedication have had a successful season so far. Ultimately, one game isn't going to define our season, and I am very proud of everyone in our locker room. At the start of the year we set out to accomplish 3 goals, Win a regular season title, Win a region 3 championship and Win a national championship. We won the regular season title, fell short in the region 3 championship game, now we are hopeful and optimistic that we will be considered for an at large bid when the NJCAA selection committee meets in early March." -Coach Harley Fuller said after Sunday's game.
