#13 Hawks notch victory over Lakers, 99-69

5 Hawks scored in double figures as the Mohawk Valley Hawks men's basketball team took down Finger Lakes on Saturday afternoon, by a final score of 99-69.

In their first game of the second semester, the Hawks dished out a season high 22 assists in route to one of their most complete games so far this season. Sophomore Ike Sheppard returned to the Hawks lineup this weekend following a broken toe that saw him sidelined for the entirety of the first semester, and his presense was a nice addition for the Hawks quickly.

Sophomore Keon Armstrong saw his first action of the season as well, as he filled up the stat sheet scoring 10 points and dishing out 5 assists to give Mohawk Valley a big boost on both ends of the floor.

Furthermore, Freshman forward Isaiah Earl made a huge imprint on the game scoring 21 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, notching 4 steals and 2 blocks to set the tone for the hometown Hawks. His counterpart Mohawk Valley Athletic's athlete of the week Lateef Johnson notched his 8th straight double double grabbing 13 rebounds and scoring a game high 22 points to lead the Hawks to victory.

Sophomore guard Tyruse Boock continued his impressive and efficient play with 18 points on 8/13 shooting while grabbing 7 steals and 6 rebounds. While Freshman point guard contributed 15 points and 5 assists to close out the double figure scoring for the victorious Hawks.

The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM at home, as they welcome Columbia Greene Community College to the Jorgenson Athletic Center.
