Mohawk Valley Handles #11 Genesee

The Hawks took on #11 Genesee Community College in a 2:00 PM tip at the Jorgenson Athletic Complex in Utica, NY.

In a high level defensive battle, Mohawk Valley defeated #11 Genesee Community College 68-58 on Sunday afternoon. Mohawk Valley was led by Isaiah Earl who scored 25 points including an array of threes and transition finishes to give the Hawks a huge boost on the offensive end of the floor.

The Hawks also received 15 points from freshman point guard Jalen Bradberry, and 12 points from sophomore guard Mike Moreno to round out the double digit scoring for the Hawks. Tyruse Boock was impressive on the defensive end of the floor and Gabe Canez' timely shooting also provided a huge lift for the victorious Hawks.

"This is the first weekend this year where we have been able to have our entire team play and I was excited to see how connected we were on the defensive end both days. I thought today we did a great job guarding in transition and battling to control the glass, and that was really a key for us. Isaiah in particular was huge for us on both ends of the floor all weekend, but honestly I was proud of the effort put forth by everyone who touched the floor this weekend. We shared the ball at an exceptionally high level, which is also very exciting as we continue to progress and settle into roles. We are continuing to improve, and I'm hopeful we can have everyone feeling healthy and playing at our best when Regional tournament play begin in a few weeks." Coach Fuller said after the victory.
