Mohawk Valley Men's Basketball Secures First NJCAA National Championship in School History

Utica, NY – The Mohawk Valley Community College Men's Basketball team has made history, capturing the program's first-ever NJCAA National Championship. In a season filled with determination, resilience, and unparalleled teamwork, the Hawks, led by Coach Harley Fuller, concluded their campaign in dominant fashion, solidifying their place in school history.

The journey to the title was no easy feat. Mohawk Valley took on a formidable lineup of competitors, defeating #10 seed Salem Community College, followed by an intense matchup against #3 seed Minnesota State. The championship game saw the Hawks battle #5 seed Herkimer College, emerging victorious and claiming the national title.

Standout performances throughout the tournament helped propel the Hawks to their championship win. Isaiah Earl was named NJCAA National Tournament MVP after an exceptional performances throughout the tournament, tallying 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. Freshman standout Andre Pasha capped off an impressive freshman season with 10 points and 8 rebounds, while Jalen Bradberry delivered another strong performance, contributing 10 points to secure the victory.

The historic season was marked by multiple milestones, as the Hawks not only clinched the NJCAA National Championship but also captured the Mountain Conference Regular Season Championship and the NJCAA Region 3 Championship. The team closed out their remarkable season with a 29-1 record.

"I couldn't be more proud of our entire team and staff for coming together and accomplishing the ultimate goal of a National Championship," said Coach Fuller following the historic victory. "This wouldn't be possible without the support of our college administration, and bringing this championship back to Mohawk Valley means everything to our program."
