Coach Harley Fuller recently wrapped up his fourth season as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Mohawk Valley Community College, capping off a remarkable run that has firmly established the program as an NJCAA national powerhouse. In 2025, Coach Fuller led the Hawks to a historic 29-1 season, earning the first NJCAA National Championship in program history. The impressive campaign saw his team lead the NJCAA in both field goal percentage defense (36.8%) and points allowed per game (61.8), a testament to the defensive intensity and discipline that has become the program’s calling card under his leadership.

Since taking over the program, Fuller has compiled an overall head coaching record of 90-28. In just four seasons, he has guided Mohawk Valley to two NJCAA National Tournament appearances (2023 and 2025), two Mountain Valley Conference regular season titles, and the 2025 NJCAA Region 3 Championship. As a result of his teams hard work, he was named the 2025 NJCAA National Tournament “Coach of the Tournament,” NJCAA Region 3 Coach of the Year, and NJCAA Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year. In addition to team success, the Hawks have sent numerous players to the 4 year scholarship level including Travis Gray (Florida International University), Tyruse Boock (Iona University), Daniel Barrera (D'Youville College), Jordan Drain (Bryant and Stratton), and Keon Armstrong (Bryant and Stratton) along with numerous others.

Prior to arriving at Mohawk Valley, Fuller spent three impactful years on staff at Siena College. During his time with the Saints, the program experienced a resurgence—capturing the 2019 MAAC Tournament title and back-to-back regular season championships in 2019 and 2020. Siena posted a 20-10 record in 2020, and Fuller played a vital role in recruiting and developing a number of standout players, including 2019 MAAC Player of the Year and current Denver Nuggets guard Jalen Pickett, international pro Manny Camper the 2020 MAAC Player of the year and future Atlantic 10 Player of the Year Jordan King. Under Fuller’s guidance, the program achieved one of the nation’s top 15 win improvements in 2018-19, finishing nine spots higher than predicted in the preseason polls.

Before Siena, Fuller served as the Director of Scouting and Analytics at Mount St. Mary’s University during the 2017-2018 season. His analytical approach helped propel the Mountaineers to an 18-14 record and a second-place finish in the Northeast Conference. He was instrumental in the development of NEC Player of the Year Junior Robinson, and implemented data-driven strategies that enhanced team and player performance.

Fuller’s first head coaching role came at Mayfield High School in New York, where he led the program to back-to-back Section 2 Tournament appearances—the first in school history—and set a new record for wins over a two-year span. During that time, he also served as an assistant coach and player development specialist for the U-17 Albany City Rocks, a program known nationally for producing elite-level talent.

As a player, Fuller enjoyed a decorated college and professional career. He began at SUNY Cobleskill, starring as the starting point guard for two seasons and leading the team to the NJCAA Final Four and a Region 3 Championship in 2008. He still holds school records for total assists (439) and single-game assists (13), and was twice named All-Conference and an All-Region performer.

From there, he earned full scholarships to NCAA Division I Florida International University and NCAA Division II Molloy College. At Molloy, he set the school’s single-season assist record (181), led the East Coast Conference in assists per game (6.1), and was a top performer in minutes and rebounding while averaging over 11 points per game. His year at FIU included starts against top programs such as Georgetown, Washington, and Miami.

Following his college career, Fuller played five years professionally in Germany and Argentina, scoring over 1,500 points internationally. His commitment to the game—both on and off the court—was recognized in 2023 when he was inducted into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame.

A native of Broadalbin, New York, Fuller was an All-Colonial Conference selection during his senior season at Broadalbin-Perth High School. From his roots in upstate New York to success on the international stage, and now at the helm of one of the NJCAA’s top programs. He is the proud father of 9 Year old Grayson Fuller.
