David Hyle has been with MVCC since 2017, and is entering his fourth season coaching Hawks Bowling. In the 2019-2020 season, Hyle was named Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year, and the Women's Bowling Team captured the 2020 Mountain Valley Conference Championship with a 14-4 overall record. The Men's Team placed third with a final record of 18-12. Hyle has been bowling for 40 years — as a high school student in New York Mills, he went to the state championships for both bowling and golf, and continued to participate in those sports while he was a student at MVCC. He was a Unites States Bowling Congress-certified youth coach for more than 20 years, and he coached the Boys Varsity Bowling Team at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, leading them to five sectional championships, and a trip to the state championships in 2011, where the team finished second. Hyle is a volunteer fireman and EMT for the Sherrill Fire Department, and was elected a city commissioner in 2019. He works as a hyperbaric tech at Oneida Health Wound Care Center. He lives in Sherrill with wife, Andi, and has two daughters, Jessie and Kacie.
