The MVCC ice hockey team found the back of the net twice, but it wasn't enough to overcome a run by Ithaca College Hockey Club as the Hawks fell 8-2.
Scoring for the Hawks was forward Conor Eisenbeck off a pass from Matt Thompson in the second period as MVCC cut Ithaca's lead to 2-1. But five unanswered goals in the second half of the period dug a deep hole for the Hawks.
Kevin Kennedy got the Hawks moving again to open the third period with a power-play goal. Getting the assists for this were Michael Rich and Eisenbeck.
MVCC goalkeeper Marcus Fortin made 26 saves as the Hawks were outshot 34-21.
