Hawks drop third game as Kats heat up the ice

The Erie Community College Kats came out hot to melt their way to an 11-1 victory over the Mohawk Valley Community College hockey team at the New Hartford Recreation Center on Sunday.

The Kats jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening five minutes of the game, but the Hawks were to dash the shutout with a goal at the 5:28 mark. The Kats went on to tallied a fourth goal in the first period and then proceed to add four goals in the second period and three goals in the third period.

The top gun for the Kats was Bradley Jones with four goals while Kevin Hanley made three assists.

This is the third loss of the season for the Hawks, dropping their record to 3-3.
