Stark has 22 saves as Mohawk Valley drops opener at Monroe

The Mohawk Valley Men's Lacrosse team lost their opening game at Monroe College by a score of 31-0.  The Hawks struggled to get on the board offensively as Monroe's goalie Owen Infantino stopped a few point blank opportunities for Mohawk Valley to get on the board throughout the game.  Sophomore goalie Dennis Stark was one of the bright spots on the day for Mohawk Valley making 22 saves in his first action of the season.  The Hawks are also seeing the emergence of a new face-off man in Scott Feik as he won eight faceoffs on the afternoon.  Miscommunication on defense and multiple transition opportunities helped the Tribunes to victory in their fifth game of the season.

"It didn't go well today.  They are in good form in their fifth game of the season and we have only been outside five times total including today.  We can learn a lot from this and get better for our two games next week," said Coach Evanoff.

The Hawks (0-1) continue their road trip with a pair of games this week as they head to Tompkins-Cortland CC on Wednesday 3/29 for a 5:00pm start, and then wrap up the week at Herkimer CC on Saturday 4/1 at 12:00pm.
