The Mohawk Valley Men's Lacrosse team lost two region III games last week on the road being shutout at Tompkins-Cortland on Wednesday and again losing 24-1 at Herkimer on Saturday. The Hawks are playing solid defense and the offense is playing well but are struggling to put points on the board. After being shutout Wednesday the Hawks were finally able to get on the board Saturday against Herkimer early on to tie the game 1-1 as sophomore Larry Hulbert finished a feed from Freshman Jon Dillon early in the first quarter, but that would be as far as the scoring would go as every other shot in the game was stopped by the Herkimer goalkeepers. As for goalkeepers, sophomore Dennis Stark is still seeing a lot shots stopping 24 shots against Tompkins-Cortland and 19 against Herkimer. Scott Feik is emerging as an everyday face-off man as he continues to grind to help the Hawks get more possessions on offense. The team finally gets a break from traveling as they host two homes games this week. The first one will be Wednesday, April 5th at 5:00pm against Hudson Valley CC and the second one will be against top 10 ranked Genesee CC at 1:00pm Saturday April 8th.
