Hawks Lacrosse Closes out 2023-2024 Campaign

The Mohawk Valley Men's Lacrosse team finished the season with a 21-4 loss to the College of DuPage this past Wednesday.  In a back and forth first half, the Hawks played their best lacrosse of the season.  In the second half though, DuPage wore the Hawks down and put up eight goals in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.  The Hawks took the early lead four minutes into the game, when sophomore leading scorer Max Hunt took a feed from freshman Derek Ferrone and beat DuPage's goalkeeper.  DuPage would tie it up a minute later but then Ferrone scored one of his own a little later to tie the game back up at 2-2.  A small run early in the second by DuPage was haulted when sophomore Jon Dillon scored his first career goal on a feed from Ferrone to make the score 6-3, and eventually the Hawks would trail 8-3 at half.  The final goal of the 2024 season for the Hawks was scored in the beginning of the fourth quarter, when Austin Millington buried a stepdown shot on a feed from Ryan Mierek.  Sophomore goalie Ryan Quinn stopped 21 shots on the evening to add to his NJCAA leading total of 169, 25 more than the second place goalkeeper.

The Hawks wrapped up the 2024 season with a final record of 1-8, but set a few college records along the way, including most team goals in a season most team points in a season among others.
