#5 Hawks take down Hornets

The #5 Nationally ranked Mohawk Valley Men's Soccer team traveled to SUNY Broome on Wednesday evening for a Region III content. The Hawks first got on the board when Lucas Beja took a low show that SUNY Broome goalkeeper Eric Yingling parried and Gustavo Paz Koch buried home the rebound to put the Hawks up 1-0 8 minutes into the game. The Hawks continued to create multiple chances but weren't able to capitalize. The Hawks would get their second tally when Gustavo Paz Koch played a through ball to Lucas Beja who buried home the first time attempt to cushion the lead. The Hawks got their final tally when Alvaro Pineda dribbled multiple defenders and finished the opportunity. Jamie Toft recorded his first shutout of the season.

"We did a good job dictating the tempo of the game but didn't do our best finishing our opportunities in front of goal. We moved the ball very well and created plenty of high-quality chances. It was a strong overall effort and a good opportunity to get a lot of guys minutes." Stated Head Coach Dom DiMaggio

The Hawks return to action on Thursday when they travel to Tompkins Cortland Community College for a 3:00pm kickoff.
