#5 Hawks and Jayhawks end up in a draw

The #5 MVCC Men's Soccer team played Jamestown CC early Sunday afternoon. The Hawks struck first when Jhonny Theze would receive a ball from Alvaro Pineda and beat Jamestown goalkeeper to put the Hawks up 1-0. The Hawks went into halftime with a 13-2 shot advantage. The Hawks continued to create great chances but it was the Jayhawks that found the back of the net with 13 minutes left in the game. The two teams would head to overtime where neither team could find the game winner. The Hawks outshot Jamestown 20-4 and held a 6-2 advantage on corner kicks. Jamie Toft would finish with 2 saves for the Hawks.

"I thought we played well today and dealt with some tough adversity throughout the game. In my opinion we created too many good scoring chances today to end up in a draw. Hopefully we can learn from this and continue to move forward as a group."

The #5 Hawks return to action when they take on SUNY Adirondack on Wednesday 9/21 at D'Alessandro stadium for a 7:00PM kickoff.
