Hawks advance to NJCAA Region III Championship in dramatic fashion

The Mohawk Valley Men's Soccer team beat Fulton Montgomery by a score of 1-0 Wednesday evening. The goal came with 1.8 seconds left in the match when Jhonny Theze would find Marco Paolo Saavedra who dribbled by the FMCC goalkeeper and slotted home the breakaway. Jamie Toft would earn the shutout victory for the Hawks. Toft has shut out 6 out of 12 opponents he's faced this season.

"I thought we moved the ball well today and created some really good chances. I give Paolo a lot of credit for finishing his chance today after coming on with five minutes left in the game. We did a good job dictating the game but made things a bit tighter then they needed to be." stated Coach Dom DiMaggio

The Hawks move on to the NJCAA Region III "B" Championship game against Genesee Community College where they look to punch their ticket the Nationals. Nationals consists of the final 8 teams left in the country
