#5 Hawks soar past Hornets behind Beja’s hat-trick

The #5 nationally ranked MVCC Men's Soccer team defeated SUNY Broome by a score of 8-0. Andrew Chmukh would open the scoring just 3 minutes into the match for the Hawks. Alonso Fernandez Guirao would play Chmukh who hit a shot from 35 yards out that snuck past the SUNY Broome goalkeeper. Lucas Beja would score the next 3 goals of the game to complete his hat-trick just 15 minutes into the game. Alieu Barrie, Jesus Sanchez, and Gustavo Nunes would all find assists on Beja's goals. Gustavo Nunes would find his first tally of the game off a pass from Admar Goncalves in the 28th minute. Gustavo Paz Koch received a ball from Alonso Fernandez Guirao and dribble the goalkeeper to slot home the attempt to give the Hawks a 5-0 lead just 35 minutes into the game. Paddy Holman would get fouled in the box and buried home the attempt to give the Hawks a 7-0 lead. Paddy would get his second tally of the match off a flick from Gustavo Paz Koch to seal the 8-0 win for the Hawks.

Jaime Mata and Breno Guimaraes would combine for 4 saves in the shutout for the Hawks. SUNY Broome goalkeepers would combine for 9 saves in the contest.

The Hawks return to action when they take on Fulton Montgomery Community College. FMCC handed the Hawks their only loss of the 2022 campaign.
