The #5 nationally ranked Mohawk Valley Community College Men's Soccer team took on Hudson Valley Community College on Friday evening. The Hawks first got on the board when Fasaikou Jammeh would take a shot from outside the 18-yard box that beat the Hudson Valley goalkeeper. Paolo Saavedra would strike again just 3 minutes later when he collected a loose ball in the box and fired home the attempt. Alonso Fernandez Guirao would slip Alvaro Pineda in behind who finished the attempt to give the Hawks a 3-0 lead heading into halftime. The Hawks would receive a red card with 35 minutes left in the second half. MVCC was able to close the game out for the 3-0 victory. Jaime Mata earned the shutout for the Hawks while his counterpart made 5 saves on the evening.

The #5 Hawks return to action on Wednesday October 11th when they take on #3 nationally ranked Herkimer College for a 7:00PM kickoff at Herkimer. The Hawks are currently tied for 1st place in the NJCAA Region III standings while the Generals currently sit at 3rd place in the Region III standings.
