8 Hawks earn NJCAA All-Region Honors

The MVCC Men's Soccer team had 8 individuals earn NJCAA Region 3 All-Region Honors. Lucas Beja, Gustavo Nunes, Alieu Barrie, Fasaikou Jammeh, and Andrew Chumukh all earned 1st Team All-Region Honors. Alvaro Pineda and Alonso Fernandez Guirao would earned 2nd Team All-Region Honors. Head Coach Dominic DiMaggio was named NJCAA Region III Coach of the Year.

1st Team All-Region
Lucas Beja, Forward, Rio de Janeiro Brazil: Lucas lead the Hawks in points this season. He accumulated 15 goals and 7 assists for 37 points in 16 games. Beja is part of an attacking threat that leads the country in shots, corner kicks, and is 5th in goals scored per game.

Gustavo Nunes, Forward, Belo Horizonte Brazil: Gustavo was second on the team in points this season. He accumulated 14 goals and 6 assists for 34 points in 12 games. Nunes was sidelined due to an injury for 5 games. Nunes is part of an attacking threat that leads the country in shots, corner kicks, and is 5th in goals scored per game.

Alieu Barrie, Midfielder, Bronx New York: Alieu started every game and lead the Hawks in assists this year despite playing as a holding midfielder. He accumulated 2 goals and dished out 8 assists for 12 points on the season.

Fasaikou Jammeh, Defender, Bronx New York: Fasaikou is the captain for the Hawks and anchors a back line that has given up 12 goals in 16 games. Jammeh has chipped in 2 goals and 1 assist on the season.

Andrew Chumukh, Defender, Utica New York: Andrew is a defender that has also contributed on the score sheet this season. He's contributed 5 goals with 4 of them being game winners for the Hawks.

2nd Team All-Region
Alvaro Pineda, Midfielder, Seville Spain: Alvaro has contributed 4 goals and 5 assists for 13 points this season. Alvaro has started every game for the Hawks this year.

Alonso Fernandez Guirao, Midfielder, Valencia Spain: Alonso has tallied 2 goals and 7 assists on the season for 11 points. Alonso has started 14 games for the Hawks this season.

Region III Coach of the Year
Dominic DiMaggio was named NJCAA Region III Coach of the Year. This is the 4th time in the last 5 years that DiMaggio has been recognized by other coaches in the Region as Coach of the Year. DiMaggio lead the Hawks to an undefeated 13-0-3 record this season.
