The #6 Mohawk Valley Community College men's soccer team traveled to Syracuse to take on #8 nationally ranked Onondaga Community College Lazers. The Lazers got on the board first when Faisal Samim played a cross into Tyler Wavercak who first time the shot into the back of the net. Shortly after, the Hawks were earn a penalty kick but were unable to convert on the attempt. With less than 2 minutes left in the first half, Santiago Molina would play Gustavo Nunes who blasted home the 30 yard finish to tie the game 1-1 heading into halftime.
Dani Rojas Cubllias would find Santiago Molina who dribbled passed the Lazer defender and finished the breakaway to give the Hawks a 2-1 lead. In the final minute of the game, Faisal Samim would serve the ball into the box and Ewan O'Dwyer-Hall would finish the cross first time to tie the game 2-2.
"This is a tough result with the way that we played tonight" stated Head Coach Dom DiMaggio. "We will learn and get better from it."
The Hawks return to action when they travel to Batavia, NY to take on Genesee Community College for a 4:00PM kickoff.
