Softball Drops Pair to Jefferson

 

Watertown, NY – The Mohawk Valley Community College softball team fell to Jefferson Community College in both games of their Region III doubleheader on Thursday afternoon.

MVCC 3, JCC 8

Carley Robinson (Whitesboro, NY), Mackenzie Emmons (Binghamton, NY), and Faith Hicks (Vestal, NY) led the way offensively, each contributing two hits. Robinson and Emmons each had a double and Hicks drove in two runs. Angelina Hays (Oriskany, NY) went 1-for-2 with 1 run and 1 RBI.

It was quiet in the beginning of the game until the fifth inning. Hawks were leading 2-1 when Jefferson rallied to score 7 of their 8 runs.

Angelina Hays picked up her second loss of the season. She pitched all seven innings giving up 8 hits, 8 runs, 4 walks while striking out 4.

MVCC 3, JCC 11

Carley Robinson (Whitesboro, NY), Faith Hicks (Vestal, NY), Kylei Cavelino (Liverpool, NY), and Jenna Riesel (Herkimer, NY), combined for the Hawks' four hits in game 2.

Kendall Darling pitched all five innings giving up 14 hits, 11 runs, and 1 walk.

 

The Hawks return home on Thursday, April 25th to face Onondaga Community College. First pitches will be thrown at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM
