GAME 1: MVCC 6 | OCC 7
MVCC Hawks stayed in it until the end, but Onondaga CC pulled away late in an 8-7 victory on Tuesday at Onondaga Community College. Onondaga CC were down 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Erin LaVancha tripled, scoring two runs. The Hawks despite out-hitting Onondaga CC 11 to seven, were defeated in the contest. Kaylee Beam led MVCC Hawks with three hits.
MV got on the board in the top of the first inning after Abby Jepsen singled to the right side of the infield, and Scout Ludwig hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. As the game progressed they added one run in the second after Sarah Zuchowski doubled to center field. Onondaga CC made the score 5-3 in the bottom of the fourth after Avalon Millard doubled, scoring two runs, and Paige Glassford singled, scoring one run. The Hawks were able to take the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Onondaga CC committed an error, Savannah Kirkby singled down the right field line, and Beam singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Sydney Puttkamer ultimately earned the win for Onondaga CC. The starting pitcher allowed 11 hits and seven runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking three. Beam took the loss for MVCC Hawks. The righty went six innings, giving up eight runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out three and walking six.

Bella Kleban collected three hits in three at bats, as MVCC Hawks defeated Onondaga CC 13-12 on Tuesday at Onondaga Community College. Kleban singled in the sixth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning. Despite falling down by four runs in the sixth inning, Onondaga CC tried to fight back. Onondaga CC closed the gap by scoring on a ground out, a single, and a triple. Onondaga CC got on the board in the top of the first inning after Grace Hoey walked, Lily Stevens singled to center field, and Brooke Nicholson hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. An error extended the Onondaga CC lead to 4-1 in the top of the second inning.
The Hawks flipped the script in the bottom of the second, scoring six runs on six hits to take the lead, 7-4. The biggest momentum swing in the inning was a walk by Paige Cook that drove in one. Onondaga CC captured the lead, 8-7, in the top of the fifth after Kennedy Nash singled to right field, and Avalon Millard walked, each scoring one run. Carley Robinson singled to right field, which helped MVCC Hawks tie the game at eight in the bottom of the fifth. A passed ball gave Onondaga CC the lead, 9-8, in the top of the sixth.
