Brittnee Mexico has been the head softball coach at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) since 2018, making her the second-longest tenured coach in Region 3. Under her leadership, the Hawks have reached new heights, including advancing to the Regional Championship Finals for the first time in over a decade. Mexico earned the Region 3 Coach of the Year honor in 2019, as well as Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year awards in both 2019 and 2022. Over the course of her 6 seasons at MVCC Mexico has coached several First and Second Team All-Region players and sent several players to further their softball careers.
In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Mexico also serves as the Student-Athlete Success Coordinator at MVCC. In this role, she is responsible for monitoring the academic performance of student-athletes across all 18 men’s and women’s teams. She provides academic support and guidance to ensure student-athletes excel both in the classroom and in their respective sports.
Before taking the reins at MVCC, Mexico graduated from Elmira College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education and Sociology, along with a minor in Anthropology. During her time at Elmira, she was a dual-sport athlete, excelling in both women’s softball and soccer. Mexico earned recognition as the Women's Softball Player of the Year and a spot on the Empire 8 All-Conference Team.
From 2011 to 2013, Mexico worked at Utica University as an athletic graduate assistant, where she contributed to all aspects of the program, including recruiting, scouting, game and practice preparation, and administrative duties. She earned her Master's degree in Education from Utica University in 2013 and then transitioned into a full-time role as a Student Support Advisor at the University.
Mexico grew up in Herkimer, NY where she currently resides.
