#15 Hawks Sail Past Panthers

#15 Hawks Sail Past Panthers

Mohawk Valley Women's Basketball traveled to TC3 on Saturday to take on the Panthers in a 1:00 PM contest.

The Hawks got out to a great start, leading off the first quarter with a 16-12 lead. They received an early boost from Nataya McGee who dropped in 6 first quarter points.

As the second quarter began, Nevaeh House started to impose her will on the Panters. The talented guard made a number of impressive moves to the rim which ended in either easy baskets for her teammattes or big time finishes around the rim. Despite the balanced scoring effort, TC3 battled and took a 28-24 lead into the half.

In the second half, Coach Coffey made a few adjustments which opened up the floor for the Hawks. The Mohawk Valley press saw the Hawks outscore the Panters, 39-26 over the final 2 quarters of play and earn the victory by a final score of 63-54.

Nevaeh House was the star of the game for the green and white as she scored 33 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and nabbed 7 steals. Nataya McGee scored 11 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Abigayle Jepsen was also impressive in the victory scoring 9 points to add to the Hawks attack.

The victory brings the #15 Hawks to 11-3 on the season. They will be back in action next Saturday, February 3rd, as they take on Onondaga at 12:00 PM.
