Hawks Finish 4th at Lazer Invitational

Hawks Finish 4th at Lazer Invitational

Mohawk Valley Golf traveled to Syracuse yesterday to participate in the Lazer Invitational, an event hosted by Onondaga Community College. On a sunny day, with light winds and exeptional golfing conditions, the Hawks had a very consistent day across the board.

Freshman Brendan Kelly led the way shooting a round of 74, which was good enough for 4th place in the entire event. His classmate Richard Zielinski had another impressive outing for the green and white, as he shot a 76, which put him in 6th place overall.

In addition to those impressive performances by the stellar freshman, the Hawks also received important contributions from both Phoenix Weydig (84) and Nicholas Butler (91), who hit the ball long and straight off the tee all afternoon.

The Hawks ultimately finished tied for 4th in the event, but are showing very promising signs of improvement and are getting contributions across the board in the young season. The Hawks will be back in action April 21st, as they host the Mohawk Valley Invitational at Oneida GC.
